Often considered the most attractive of men, William Bradley Pitt has had an extensive film career, both as an actor and as a film producer. He spent most of his Hollywood life in the tabloids . After a relationship with actress Gweneth Paltrow he was married to actress Jennifer Aniston for seven years. While shooting Mr. and Mrs. Smith he began the notorious relationship with Anjelina Jolie. After his divorce from Aniston, Brad and Anjelina moved in together and had three children to add to Anjelina’s three adopted ones.
He was born December 18, 1963 and moved from Oklahoma to Missouri early in life. He was extremely active in high school and participated in many clubs and sports teams. He went on to college and nearly graduated in journalism, but moved out to L.A. just two weeks before graduation.
In Los Angeles he worked a variety of menial jobs to pay for his acting classes. He started his career with small, sometimes uncredited work. His work continued to grow but his was first really noticed by the general public for his supporting role in Thelma and Louise. His shirtless scene in the film started him a large female following. He also starred in A River Runs Through It, which was directed by Robert Redford. In his personal opinion Brad thought his performance was lacking , but most reviewers loved him in it.
Pitt received his first Oscar nomination for his supportive role in Twelve Monkeys. He also stared in big movies such as Seven, Fight Club, Snatch, Ocean’s 11, Seven Years in Tibet, and others. Most critics believe he found his calling as the comedic extrovert , which he played with brilliancy. He did try a dramatic role again with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, also starring Cate Blanchett, for which he was nominated for a second Academy Award.
With Jennifer Aniston and Brad Grey, Brad Pitt founded a production company called Plan B Entertainment. The company produced such movies as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, A Mighty Heart, and The Departed. Grey and Aniston have not been partners since 2005.
Since he began his relationship with Anjelina Jolie,--who is herself a Goodwill Ambassador , Pitt has become more involved with humanitarian and world-wide issues. He supports many charities and foundations, including ONE Campaign and other relief organizations. He also helped found the foundations Not On Our Watch, which helps genocide victims, and Make It Right, which is creating housing for Katrina victims. He and his partner founded the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which has given millions away to different agencies involved with heath care, refugee aid, and other such charities.
Pitt has been given The Sexiest Man Alive award by People magazine. He was also named as one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine. His relationship with Anjelina Jolie caused more hype than any other set of stars, mostly because many accused Pitt of adultery . But Pitt repeated adamantly that he and Jennifer Aniston were officially separated when he began his attraction to Anjelina. Pitt and Aniston were legally divorced before he and Anjelina publicly announced their relationship.
